How to Measure a Feature

This is a tutorial on how to measure a feaure in the image pane.

Available Commands

• Left Mouse Button - starts or extends a polyline.
• Right Mouse Button - ends a polyline.
• Control-Z - removes last point added to a polyline
• Control-E - exports the measurements to a file in the Results directory.

Steps

1. Enter the measurement mode by going to the menu bar and picking the Measurement menu and selecting User Drawing. Then select a feature type to draw.
2. Pressing the left mouse button once will start a polyline.
3. Pressing the left mouse button again will extend the polyline.
4. Pressing Control-Z will undo the last point.
5. Click the right mouse button to end the current polyline and draw another of the same type or select a new feature type and draw another polyline of a different type.
6. Press Control-E to export the measurements to a file. The file name format is the name of the image followed by a timestamp.
